Angie Sauer

Angie Sauer holds both a BA and an MA from North Park University and is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) in Illinois. She began her journey with Kids Above All as the Volunteer Coordinator for Camp Sheilah before transitioning into a full‑time therapist role. Angie now serves as a clinician with Counseling Solutions in Lake County and continues to support youth through her work with Camp Sheilah.

Angie specializes in trauma‑focused care, using evidence‑based approaches such as CBT and DBT to help clients process emotional and physical trauma in a safe, supportive environment. She also treats mood disorders, including depression and anxiety. With extensive experience working with children, Angie helps young clients navigate behavioral and emotional challenges—often using play therapy and art‑based techniques to support children coping with anxiety, trauma, or ADHD. Her one‑on‑one, client‑centered approach emphasizes safety, healing, and growth.
