Armour Counseling

Foster Care Clinical Services

Kids Above All’s Armour Counseling program provides therapy and other clinical support to children who have experienced trauma, as well as their parents and caregivers, helping our clients achieve personal growth and improved emotional, social and family function.

Our clinicians use treatment plans with both short- and long-term goals to assess the client’s progress and make referrals when more intensive treatment and special services are needed.

Our staff collaborates with colleagues within Kids Above All and other external systems, such as Chicago Public Schools, Juvenile Court and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, to facilitate the best possible outcomes for the children and young adults in our care.

We work with children and families in our out-of-home placements, adoptions, subsidized guardianships and Grand Family Homes program, as well as children who have returned home to their biological parent(s).

Our therapists offer a range of hours to accommodate working parents or those with specific scheduling needs.

Each year, we partner with local colleges and universities to supplement our clinical staff with five to seven graduate-level interns to provide the best possible therapeutic support for our clients.
