Johnny's Journey to self-sufficiency
Every year, Kids Above All helps youth like Johnny Rivers, a young man who was experiencing homelessness in the city of Chicago, to become independent adults who lead meaningful, productive lives. We invite you to both watch the video below and read a Chicago Tribune article that highlight his journey from couch surfing to self-sufficiency and financial independence.
Johnny is a very special young man, who, through hard work, resilience, and critical support from Kids Above All, is now employed, living in a safe apartment of his own, and able to provide for his family. He has continued to be part of the Kids Above All family, serving as the emcee at our annual gala and joining our Board of Trustees.
