KAA announces newest Board member

Rahul Kalsi Joins KAA's Board

Chicago-based Kids Above All today announced the newest addition to its Board of Trustees, Rahul Kalsi. Kalsi, recently hired as the Director of Government Affairs for Nicor Gas, joins the organization’s 33-member governing board, which oversees the agency’s administration, as well as champions the safety, well-being and education of the young people in its care.

Kalsi’s extensive experience in finance, public policy and advocacy will be critical in helping Kids Above All carry out its mission. Beginning his career in the financial services industry with UBS, he later transitioned into public policy and advocacy—both in the private and public sectors. He spent more than two years at John J. Millner & Associates, Inc., ensuring the interests of the firm’s clients were well represented in Illinois. He then joined the Office of the Cook County Board President where he led and executed the County’s legislative agenda. This included policies to improve the health, safety, and education of under-resourced children and families, which fueled his decision in 2016 to join Kids Above All’s Auxiliary Board for young professionals.

“I am honored to join Kids Above All’s Board of Trustees. I believe in the organization’s mission and, as a member of the agency’s young professionals’ board, I have witnessed the impact KAA has on the lives of the individuals and families we serve. I look forward to continuing my work to make an even greater difference in the community, so more kids have opportunities to succeed,” said Rahul Kalsi.

“Rahul has been a vital member of the Kids Above All Family for the last six years. We are excited for him to step into this new role and use his vast knowledge, expertise and enthusiasm to have an even greater impact on our organization and in the lives of kids who have experienced poverty, violence and injustice,” said Dan Kotowski, President and CEO of Kids Above All.

Kalsi has served as Chair of Kids Above All’s Auxiliary Board for the past four years, spearheading volunteer and fundraising events to build better lives for the young people and families in the organization’s programs. In his new role on the Board of Trustees, Kalsi will continue to act as liaison to the young professionals, ensuring greater connection and cohesion between the two groups.
