Parent Empowerment
Program
Achieving Developmental Milestones
Kids Above All’s Parent Empowerment Program (PEP) is a home visiting, parent support program for low-income families with children ages 0-3.
PEP provides parents in the city of Chicago, as well as Kane, Lake and Suburban Cook County, with the knowledge, resources and support to help them become their child’s first teacher. The program also addresses the isolation that many parents of very young children experience, preventing child abuse and breaking the cycle of poverty.
Kids Above All’s Parent Educators visit our clients’ homes twice each month, bringing information and activities to make sure our kids achieve important developmental milestones. We use the Parents as Teachers curriculum, a nationally-recognized, evidence-based teaching model that focuses on developing the child’s emotional, language, physical and social skills.
Our families also build a network of support through virtual and center-based group meetings that focus on topics that help our clients succeed as parents and in life.
