Early Childhood Programs
About Our Early Childhood PRograms
Kids Above All’s early childhood programs help kids ages 0-5 achieve developmental milestones so they are ready to succeed in school and in life. We work with pregnant moms and young families living in poverty in Elgin, Lake County, Chicago and Suburban Cook County to make sure they have the support they need to become their child’s first teacher and best advocates.
Our doula programs in Lake County as well as our other service areas support pregnant woman and new moms and babies so they have a great start to their lives together. Our licensed doulas are with our families through pregnancy, birth and early parenting, helping them get to doctors’ appointments, providing breastfeeding support and, when they are ready, transitioning them into our early learning program so they can reach important developmental milestones.
Parent Empowerment Program
The Parent Empowerment Program (PEP) promotes early learning, brain development and resiliency in young children ages 0-3 and empowers parents to be their child’s first teachers. Our Educators visit the families’ homes twice each month, bringing activities from our evidence-based curriculum that strengthen the parent-child relationship and help kids achieve developmental milestones. Each home visit also includes new books to make sure parents and kids read together often.
Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters
Kids Above All’s Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) program is a home-based service that ensures children ages 3-5 in Chicago and South Suburban Cook County are ready for kindergarten. Our nationally-recognized, evidence-based curriculum improves our kids’ early math, science, and reading skills, and helps parents better understand their child’s development so they can prepare them for a bright future.
