Who We Are
Kids Above All.
It’s who we are. It’s what we believe. It’s what we do.
Kids Above All was founded in 1894 on three principles:
- Alleviating suffering;
- Eradicating causes of injustice; and
- Facilitating the development of the full human potential.
Since that time, our mission to build better lives for children and families impacted by poverty, violence and injustice has helped more than 150,000 clients.
Join us in putting “Kids Above All” and learn how you can make a difference for young people who have experienced trauma.
WE BELIEVE:
ALL CHILDREN, NO MATTER WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE OR WHERE THEY COME FROM, DESERVE THE SAME OPPORTUNITY TO REALIZE THEIR FULL POTENTIAL.
OUR MISSION:
KIDS ABOVE ALL BUILDS BETTER LIVES FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IMPACTED BY POVERTY, VIOLENCE AND INJUSTICE.
Since 1894, Kids Above All has created safer, stronger and healthier communities for children and families in Cook, DuPage, Kane and Lake counties through early childhood education, safe, supportive housing, and trauma-informed counseling programs.
OUR VISION:
YOUNG PEOPLE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED TRAUMA CAN BECOME INDEPENDENT ADULTS WHO LEAD MEANINGFUL, PRODUCTIVE LIVES.
Every child in our care has experienced trauma — abuse, neglect, poverty, violence or injustice. Kids Above All provides the support our clients need to have the best possible life.
